FELLOWSHIPS (62 DISTRIBUTED ANNUALLY)

Each year Phi Kappa Phi awards fifty-four Fellowships of $8,500 each, six at $20,000 each, and two at $35,000 each to members entering their first year of graduate or professional study. Each chapter may select one candidate from among its local applicants to compete for Society-wide awards.

STUDY ABROAD GRANTS (125 DISTRIBUTED ANNUALLY)

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. One hundred twenty-five grants in the amount of $1,000 each are awarded every year.

LOVE OF LEARNING AWARDS (200 DISTRIBUTED ANNUALLY)

Love of Learning Awards help fund post-baccalaureate studies and/or career development for active Phi Kappa Phi members to include, but not be limited to, graduate or professional studies, doctoral dissertations, continuing education, career development, travel related to teaching/research/learning, etc. Two hundred awards, at $1,000 each, are distributed each year.

LITERACY GRANTS (VARIABLE NUMBER DISTRIBUTED ANNUALLY)

The Literacy Grants program was initiated to mobilize members and resources of Phi Kappa Phi and the higher education community to champion literacy initiatives. Grants of up to $2,500 are available to Phi Kappa Phi chapters and individual members to fund ongoing literacy projects or to create new initiatives.

For the 2022-23 academic year, our chapter has received a literacy grant in the amount of $2,500 to fund our Community Reading Initiative. This year, we will continue our partnership with the Kappa Delta Pi, Omicron Pi Chapter, at Charlotte for our annual love of reading events, which include in-school reading and a book drive for Niner University Elementary classrooms. We will also build and install community book boxes at strategic locations which will serve as neighborhood libraries for low-income communities around the Charlotte campus.

DISSERTATION FELLOWSHIPS (15 DISTRIBUTED ANNUALLY)

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi annually awards fifteen Dissertation Fellowships of $10,000 each to active members who are doctoral candidates and are completing dissertations.

The fellowship supports students in the dissertation writing stage of doctoral study. Awards are for 12 months of dissertation writing. All pre-dissertation requirements should be met by the application deadline, including approval of the dissertation proposal.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD (1 DISTRIBUTED EVERY BIENNIUM)

The Ray Sylvester Distinguished Service Award honors an individual who has provided sustained, non-compensated volunteer service to others beyond the realm of academia. The awardee receives a recognition citation, life membership and a $1,000 donation to a nonprofit cause of their choice.

SCHOLAR & ARTIST AWARD (1 DISTRIBUTED EVERY BIENNIUM)

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Scholar and Artist Awards honor individuals who demonstrate the ideals of the Society through their lifelong activities, achievements and scholarship. Each awardee receives a recognition citation, life membership and a $1,000 donation to a nonprofit cause of their choice.
